The purpose of the foundation is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment. It focuses on four core issue areas: children, global mental health, gender justice, and housing/shelter. It also supports initiatives relating to sports and social technology.
Established in 1985 - The foundation was established on 1985 to help the community. It has worked with JK Rowling, Sainsbury, TK Maxx, British Airways, a number of sports celebrities, and other high profile partners to spread its mission, awareness, and raise money for its causes.
COVID-19 BAME-led Projects
In a partnership with National Emergencies Trust, Comic Relief will award £3.4 million in grants to ten Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME)-led organizations, which, in turn, will distribute funding to small and micro projects, as a part of Comic Relief's response to the inequalities of the Covid-19 crisis.
